Health Effects
Acute – Swallowed Not a likely source of exposure. Ingestion will cause severe irritation to the mouth, oesophagus and stomach. Symptoms can include nausea, vomiting and severe abdominal pain.
Acute – Eye Will cause severe irritation in contact with the eyes, which can result in stinging, lachrymation and possible corneal injury.
Acute – Skin Will cause severe irritation in contact with the skin, which will result in redness, itching and possible contact dermatitis.
Acute – Inhaled Inhalation of dust will cause severe irritation to the mucous membrane and upper airways. Symptoms of exposure can include nausea, coughing, dizziness, headaches and breathing difficulties. May cause sensitisation by inhalation.
Chronic Repeated or prolonged exposure to this material will result in severe skin irritation leading to dermatitis. Inhalation will aggravate existing respiratory disorders.
First Aid
Swallowed DO NOT induce vomiting. Immediately wash mouth with water and give plenty of water to drink. Seek immediate medical assistance.
Eye If contact with the eye(s) occur, wash with copious amounts of water for approximately 15 minutes holding eyelid(s) open. Take care not to rinse contaminated water into the non-affected eye. SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION.
Skin Remove all contaminated clothing. Wash gently and thoroughly with water and non-abrasive soap for 15 minutes. Ensure contaminated clothing is washed before re-use or discard. If contact is more than of minor nature, seek medical attention.
Inhaled Remove the source of contamination or move the victim to fresh air. Ensure airways are clear and have a qualified person give oxygen through a face-mask if breathing is difficult. Seek immediate medical attention.
First Aid Facilities Eye wash and normal washroom facilities.
Advice to Doctor Treat symptomatically or consult a Poisons Information Centre.

Exposure Limits No exposure standards have been established for this material, however, the TWA National Occupational Health And Safety Commission (NOHSC) exposure standards for dust not otherwise specified is 10 mg/m3.
Eng. Controls Natural ventilation should be sufficient, however, where dust is generated the use of a mechanical exhaust ventilation system is recommended.
Personal Protection
Respirator Type Where ventilation is inadequate and dust is generated the use of an Air Purifying Respirator with a Class P1 filter complying with AS/NZS 1715 and AS/NZS 1716 is recommended.
Eye Protection The use of chemical goggles or safety glasses with side shield protection is recommended.

Storage and Transport
